Ring Styles

Ring style comparison chart. Round ring: 2 9/16 inch, 366 sheets, spine mounted, contents move when the binder is opened, full ring diameter cannot be used without jamming, smoothest movement of contents, poor spine width to capacity ratio. D ring: 3 inch, 485 sheets, back cover mounted, contents stay put when opened, almost the full ring height is usable, movement on the straight side is awkward, capacity of the round half is limited. Slant D ring, marked best: 2 11/16 inch, 480 sheets, back cover mounted, contents stay put, holds about as much as an O ring while taking less shelf space, angled straight part gives satisfactory paper movement, better spine width to capacity ratio.
